Mindy Smith is like a young Patty Griffin....she has a velvety, bluesy, and immaculate voice. She, like me, grew up on Long Island and now lives in Nashville. Her surroundings have added a touch of twang, but Mindy's songs are still tinged with folk and alt-pop, and sometimes quite mesmerizing. This title track to Smith's latest album mentions parts of Long Island I remember, which is cool in itself. But it's really just an amazingly pretty song.
